Our Nursery: Personal

So as promised I am blogging about more of my personal life πŸ™‚ For those of you who follow me on facebook or my personal blog then you already know I have two other passions besides photography. My kids and Decorating my house! I claim to be no expert on either but I do my best! My stepdaughter Katelyn is 7, she is a mini of my husband and has stolen my heart. She is beautiful, smart, and charming when she wants to be. My son Lucas is three. He is our wild man full of energy, laughter, and hilarious commentary. We are expecting a little girl at the end of the summer and will call her Sloan Mackenzie. I have been busy preparing her nursery!

I started with one of my favorite colors as the base! A pretty teal. I wanted to paint before things got busy with spring photos and wedding season so I chose the color before we knew the sex!

I had a vision of tree swing shelves and I love how they turned out and they were so easy to make πŸ™‚ The items on the shelves are just for testing right now. Not sure what will be there for good!

Lucas was a pacifier child. I am embarrassed to admit how long how he them πŸ˜‰ I bought an obscene amount and lost just as many! Β I knew this time around we needed a better system for storing them and fell in love with this jewelry cabinet and TA-DA Pacifier storage!! When she is done with pacifiers it can be used for its actual purpose!

I had my heart set on a yellow crib. When I was pregnant with Luke we had just moved into our house and I was trying to decorate all three floors in a matter of months and I did not put the proper thought into his room and he ended up with a very cute and sweet pottery barn baby blue room. But it was boring.. and so not very me!! I wanted this room to reflect my dreams for our little girl! Full of sunshine and color and happy! I think this crib exudes all these emotions! I think its took about 10 cans of spray paint and Β 4 separate spraying sessions!

But I absolutely adore how it turned out. I am having the bedding custom made so it won’t be in for another 5 weeks or so but I can not wait! Another “vision” I had was something fun on the ceiling! Originally I wanted to wallpaper it but figured that might be too much of an undertaking 5 months pregnant! So I found these awesome vinyls and put them on the ceiling and I love the pops of color πŸ™‚

This is the latest view from the doorway! And a close up of one of the flowers! Β I bought an awesome light fixture that needs to be hung next and some AMAZING custom frames I am soon to be selling! I will update again once the bedding arrives πŸ™‚ Hope you enjoyed this little slice of Β me!
